Step 1. On the website (I think it’s better if you do it there), go to www.weightwatchers.com
Step 2. In your profile under settings, go to preferences. Choose food. Choose maintenance. That will put your tracker to 28 or 30. Your weeklies will be the same.
Step 3. Make sure you choose to not rollover points.
That’s it.
SAYS WEIGHT LOSS AND HEALTHY HABBITS OR JUST HEALTHY HABBITS
HI I JUST TRIED TO CHANGE TO MAINTANCE AND IT DOES NOT GIVE ME THAT OPTION... PLEASE HELP.
I'm so happy I found this group! I'm determined to lose the 10 lbs I put back on. I had initially lost 50 lbs prior to Freestyle. Back to being a loser!
I have read all the posts but still can’t figure out how to find the old smart points
It worked!! So happy to have found this group!
Now that I have set the tracker back to 30 points I want to make sure I am now properly calculating the foods that have become zeros (example chicken & beans)? This is amazing by the way!!! Thank you for starting this page!!!
Under food, I don't have "maintenance". ???
No, the points don't change, except that when you really get to maintenance, you will be allowed more points.
Hi! One question, will the points change as a loose weight even if I have my tracker on maintenance?
Yes, just the fruits and most veggies (not corn or beans).
Are the only zero points foods now just fruits and veggies?
I've been doing freestyle 10 weeks and have only lost 4 lbs, very frustrating. I'm going to give this a try. I understand I can change my WW tracker to maintenance, 30 points . Doesn't the current freestyle tracker track foods at a different rate than say the itrack bites? I thought that foods with more sugar were more points with the FS than the old Smart points Am I understanding this in correctly?.
I just switched today. I have used my old pocketbook to find the values of “free” foods snd learned today how to create those foods in the app with point values!
Hi folks: to answer your questions, in order to track the foods that were 0 before, in the WW app, you have to create your own foods. In any other app that you use like Itrackbites or Protracker, you do not have to worry about that.
I started Weight Watchers 2/12/16. I had consistently lost weight each week. I returned to 30 today after no losses since Freestyle began. Feeling better about my weight loss journey and I feel like I have more control! Thanks! I’ve created the zero point Freestyle foods and they now have sp! Yay!!! Thanks for this page!
Hi, Kim and jglass! To answer the questions you both raised,
1. Change the point value from 23 to 30 on the WW app. The very first post in this thread explains how to do it.
2. Fruits don't have points to count so no calculation needed for those, but you do have to be aware of how many fruits (and how many servings of each) you are eating per day. A good rule of thumb is 3 fruits per day, so try to keep close to that. I don't understand what you are asking about proteins, but proteins are filling, and help you feel full, so foods with proteins are generally healthy. If that doesn't address your issue, feel free to ask again, someone else may know a better answer. Good luck to you both on "Return to 30!"
How do you calculate points for fruits abc proteins?
To be on this site do you have to do 30 Points ? Also I’m confused , what app are we talking about in changing it to 30 points, the Oringal WW App or the ITRACKBITES app? I’ve tried to find an original post that explains how you are doing this as not to ask s many questions. Let me know if there is an I will go there. Thank you
Shari, the short answer is that it works better!
I've been doing Weight Watchers for at least 1 1/2 years now, including Lifetime (maintenance). Based on my experience, and what has been said in the meetings I've attended, you need to eat at least close to the number of points you are allowed in order to lose weight, no matter what version or plan you are on. You can skip the optional points (they are optional, after all) but you need to consume more points than you are now! I've seen people who "can't eat all that" go from no loss to losing weight when they eat as much as they are supposed to eat. Of course, that was with Smart Points.
Even with freestyle's "rollovers", you need to eat at least 19 points of food per day. And for the original Smart Points, that we are here to celebrate, you need to eat 30 points of food--or at least very close to it.
I know that freestyle has a lot of zero point foods, but there is such a thing as eating too much of a good thing. Take a look at the point values under the Smart Points plan of the foods that have "zero points" under freestyle. That will give you a better idea of how much you are really eating....and it may well be over the 30 points allowed under Smart Points! That may be part of why you are not losing weight.
Hope this helps you understand your choices better. Please let me know how it goes when you do eat more points!
How does the old smart points work compared to the new freestyle? Freestyle is not working for me. I literally ate 3-4 points each day for 3 days and lost nothing. Thanks!
